1 lb extra firm tofu, well drained
2 T soy sauce
1/3 c tahini
1/3 c water
1 T lemon juice
1/2 c sesame seeds
2 T canola oil
Cut tofu into 8 pieces and brush with soy sauce. Set aside to dry.
Combine tahini, 1 T soy sauce, water and lemon juice in a blender and process until smooth. Transfer to a shallow bowl. Put sesame seeds in another shallow bowl.
Gently coat tofu in the tahini mixture, followed by the sesame seeds.
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Cook tofu slices until lightly browned. Don’t over crowd, but cook in batches if necessary. Drain on brown paper and serve hot.
